Shiprock 29-04-06

This was our second dive for the day on Saturday April 29, 2006.  Dive 234 for me was only my second dive at Shiprock.  Viz was not brilliant but much better than at six fathom reef, our first dive for the day.  We had the luxury of diving Shiprock from the boat.

We went into the bubble cave, took some pics.  We saw an octopus, a moray eel, a porcupine fish. A few starfish, frog fish, flathead, goatfish, old wives, stripey, morwong, maori wrasse, leatherjackets a plenty.

We continued along the wall, passing the tyre in the sand. The current was getting stronger and in the end we decided we had gone far enough against a stronger and stronger current and turned to drift quickly back. Once back near the boat we found that both anchors had come free. Lucky there was no current or boat wash or it might have a long way away.

I've also added some pics from my first dive at Shiprock
