Sea conditions were not favourable on December 22.  Kurnell was washed out and anywhere outside of Botany Bay would have been too rough.  We thought that maybe Minmi trench might be OK. As we headed close to Henry head we slowed.  Watching the bottom finder we noticed a steep drop off to the sand at 22m.  It was protected here so we thought we'd have a look.  At the bottom the sand is line is at around 22m, with large boulders coming up to shallower depths at 10-12m.  Some of the boulders are quite imposing at 5-6m above the surrounding rocks.  Despite the viz being only fair this site has lots to offer.  There are definitely swim throughs amongst the rocks and fish life galore.  Cuttles, nudies, groper, old wives in schools and sea dragons.  We completed our dive but found that the back anchor, which should have been over sand had hooked up.  Wayne headed back down to free it.  Upon freeing it he started back up.  Looking down he saw a significant number of very small (<30cm) juvenile PJs.  Sadly his camera was in the boat.

Another site that is sheltered from N and NE swells and well worth visiting again and again.  This is definitely a boat dive.
