Cairns 14-05-09

Our last full day in Cairns before we board Spoilsport. We head out and jump on board Skyrail for the trip up the mountains to Kuranda. There are 2 stops on the way to Kuranda with boardwalks at both stops. The first stop is part way up and has a short walk on boards around the rainforest. We change from one system to another here. The next step took us to Barron Gorge stop where we get out and walk again. There are lookouts here that give superb views of the falls and the gorge. There is also an educational centre which is worth a look. The final trip is along to Kuranda where we alight after getting out photo taken in our cable car.

After a coffee we return back down again. The view is much different going back and it is great to look back down to Cairns and the coast. It is a lovely trip and a great way to spend half a day.
