Flare point is our last dive site and we have open deck for the afternoon. It is one of those sites where there a is number of smaller bommies in the shallower depths with the boat moored over the slowly sloping sand. It did not appear to promise much but we were to be surprised. Our 2 dives were comfortable and amongst the staghorn corals there was plenty of fish life. We had a lovely encounter with a trumpet fish that pulled up under a small bommie for a clean. I got really close, hovering just above the corals and took my photo competition winning photo. Further on a giant sweet lips was hanging around a bommie. We took lots of pics of it and I got a wonderful pic of it opening it's mouth and gills for a clean. This pic won 3rd prize. |
