Our second dive after the Minmi trench on 7 July 07 we headed to the other side of Botany Bay.  Wanting to stay shallower this area has a max of 15m on the sand line North of the shore.  We are very familiar with this part of Kurnell, having mapped it for our divemaster course.  The viz was reasonable, reaching 10m in places.  We anchored in about 11m depth, a bit East of the steps.  There is lots of sandy patches here, a low wall closer to shore and rocky outcrops as you get deeper heading North.  I headed North, looking for weedy sea dragons which are common at the sand line at 15m or so.  I found one that allowed me to follow it around for a while. There was also a beautiful sea pen in the sand, nicest that I have seen and a few different nudies.  Towards the end Wayne found a nudie that we had not seen before. When he found me again he was able to find it a second time and we got some nice pics.  I think it's a Tambja sp (pp45-46 1001 Nudibrachs) but can't id for sure.
