There are quite a number of dive sites around Kurnell.
These sites are accessed from the shore via the car parks at the
National Park. Their appeal is the relative ease of entry and exit
and navigating. Basically from the shore there is rocks galore
that are covered with a wide variety of plant life and this of course
attracts lots of fish. Navigation is easy, the rocks run out to
the sand line and run basically east-west. The sand line is at
around 12m depending on the tides. You can simply swim along the
sand line and when you are ready, turn around and return to your
starting point. Kurnell dive sites are generally well protected
when the wind &/or seas are southerlies. Visibility is generally
good at 5 to 8 metres. You can expect to see weedy sea dragons
along the sand line. Kurnell dive sites can be affected by
outgoing tides when the viz will be poorer and there may be a current
running east.
Below are links to my Kurnell dives, most with photos.
