Pizza reef is a small reef out from Bate Bay. It can be
circumnavigated in 20 to 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. It's
appeal is the channels that criss cross the reef, like a pizza cutter
has been across it, hence the name. It is a pleasure to dive -
navigation is easy, the water here is generally quite clear with good
viz and there are plenty of fish. Commonly found are devilfish,
cuttles, weedie sea dragons, mowong.
It is not too deep at 26m but at this depth bottom time on air is limited. Still it is a very nice dive and worth doing lots of times. |
