Way down the coast from Port Hacking, off the Royal
National Park is Wattamola. The bay is small but there is long
beach and beyond the beach a small waterfall. This is a popular
picnic area but we go here to dive on the point.
There are large rock formations here with swim throughs
and grottos. There is a large variety of fish life including
nudies and in winter PJs. Groups of bastard trumpeters hang out
with bullseye in the grotto, just inside the sand line. Usually a
good dive site with good viz, it's easiest to follow the sand line and
venture in to the rocks then back out again.
Depth is around 22m on the sand so you get a good bottom
time even on air.
