A few weeks ago we had seen 2 dive boats, including Le Scat at Merries Reef so we thought it must be worth a look. Saturday, June 23 2006 was overcast but the seas were around a metre, perfect for us. We anchored over the reef and descended. Swimming into the outgoing tide we crossed about 30m of flat rock and kelp and then dropped over a wall. In an overhang we saw a cuttle. We turned left and followed the wall South around large boulders and small overhangs. While the rock formations were interesting, and there were plenty of fish, it just didn't really excite me. Viz was good, we found the anchor again OK and completed my 243rd dive at 25m for 45 mins. |
