Well, Wayne headed off to Lord Howe Island (lucky him).  I got onto SeaTamer, headed for Barrens Hut.  There were 8 divers on the boat, plus Leo (from Aquasea) and John the skipper.  The seas were up and I was glad that I had taken my quells.  In my sharkskin and semi dry I was a bit too warm on the trip out.  Once we had secured the boat the first divers went down.  I was second last.  The anchor was sitting on the sand right in front of the cave and chimney.  The water was 18-20oC and crystal clear.  This is the best viz that I have seen at Barrens.  On the way down my strobe got caught on the anchor rope and broke the optic fibre connector on the camera.  A few minutes on the bottom and I had it jury rigged.  There was lots of fish life around and viz >20m was a real joy.  I went down the chimney and out the bottom, but spent most of my time not more than 30m from the anchor.  This was a fantastic dive.
