We had hoped to dive the Tuggerah but the seas were up a
bit so we decided for Barrons. We were not prepared for the
extreme cold of the water. Without a hood we hit the water and
down 2 meters our faces and head hurt from the cold. 14oC
is very cold for the middle of summer. Never the less we
persisted. Things weren't much better at bottom. Viz
was poor. Leo and his mate from "Griffiti" were also there
enjoying the gloom. Amazingly we saw a juvenile PJ - don't usually
see any PJs this time of year. For some reason I used more air
than normal. Not sure if it was the cold, the fact that I had not
dived for a few weeks or that my regs had just been serviced. As
they say, there are no bad dives. Just some not so good ones.
This was one of the latter. A great site but poor water. |
