The Split 10-01-15

After the great viz at the Tug we knew that Barrens would be great.  And it was.  Our anchor dropped nicely at the Barrens end of the split and we headed up the split.  Quite a number of juvenile PJs rested in the split.  We swam up slowly. me from one end and Wayne from the other.  They got a bit twitchy as we got within a metre of them.  One swam off between my legs while another swam up over my head, very close indeed.  These are such placid creatures.  We headed to the very end of The Spilt and at the top of the reef a curious cuttle came out to play.  It seemed fascinated with Wayne's strobe and we 'played' with it for some minutes.  We then headed off towards the Swim throughs at Barrens but deco time as against us and we had to up anchor and head off.  Another wonderful dive at one of Sydney's premier dive sites.
