Big seas outside restricted us to Botany Bay on December
16, 2006. So we dropped anchor on this reef which is one of our
favourites. The viz was very poor- only a couple of metres really.
Our anchor was on top of the reef at the SW end, wedged in one of the
many channels that run across this reef. Most are several metres
deep but not wide enough to dive in. We basically followed the
sand line and were rewarded with the smallest weedie sea dragon we had
ever seen - clearly a juvenile. There were lots of other weedies
here - it seems a popular spot for them. We counted at least 10
different ones on this dive. We checked out the slate which is
very overgrown now.
