Club dive to Shellharbour on February 28 2015. Five boats out.
We had Heinz, Leo, Wayne and I. We headed out to The Hump in a bit
over 30m depth. As we were manoeuvring we got the prop caught a
huge ball of rope, attached to a basket. After untangling to from
the prop we sank the basked with a couple of fishing weights. Then
the rope stayed on the boat. We dumped it above the boat ramp near
the gravel loader. I had to swim it in.
Anyway, the water had that WOW blue colour and we knew it would be
good. And it was, viz was a good 25m. There were lots of
mado around, we found a moray in a crack and lovely wobbie resting on a
ledge. We were anchored on the south side of the hump. Don't
know how big it is. Another boat was anchored a good 100m away and they
also dived the same rocky, rise with lots of plant and fish life.
Definitely the best dive for this summer.
