After the Annie M Miller we headed back to Magic Point. We
were heading back into the seas so the trip took around half a hour.
That's OK as we needed a respectable surface interval before we visited the
sharks.
Our anchor was in the rocks to the left of the ledge in front of
the cave and as we got close to the cave we could see the sharks slowly swimming
around. We counted 100 all up and the viz was quite good. I settled
into a spot about in the middle and started taking pics. As more time went
by the sharks got closer and closer, checking us out. One of the younger
ones swam around behind me and came down my left hand side. It was so
close I pushed my camera out and touched it's tail with my strobe. It made
a crack sound showing it was not impressed and sped away. It came back though
for another look a few minutes later. Really exciting.
I then headed across the sand and saw a lone squid. I
chased hard behind it with my camera ready. It came back around and put on
quite a show. I spent quite some minutes with it before it headed away.
One of the best dives I've had at Magic Point.
