The GNS were calling us again - Magic Point here we come.
The fog was very thick in Botany Bay we could only see 20 to 30m ahead. Once we
got out of Botany Bay it lifted somewhat and we could make better speed.
We had Ahmed with us on this trip. Viz looked really good but not so good
at the cave. The surge was stirring up the sand making visibility not so
good. We found 6 GNS around the cave. 5 juvenile and 1 adult
females. The juvenile female that we saw in June was still there.
She still has a large hook hanging from the side of her mouth with a long line
dragging in the sand. The wound looked black - not a good sign.
The juvenile sharks were swimming very slowly - at times
stopping in the water quite close to us. There was also some PJs,
including a juvenile PJ which seemed intent on ramming us. A cuttle hid
well back in the rocks on the west side of the cave.
