If last time was a great dive on the shark colony this
was quite the opposite. After wild storms the weekend before and
the seas still a bit up we felt that Magic Point would be sheltered from
the worst of the seas. it was sheltered at the surface but a but
surgy at the cave. And viz was 5m at best. We did however
count 10 GNS and 1 PJ, plus lots of schools of yellowtail, a few groper
and stripeys. The conditions were not good. We did this dive
on ponies (lasted 15 mins at this depth) and the remainder of our tanks
from our ill fated attempt at the Kelloe. Still it was good to be
back in the water and good to see that there were a good number of GNS
at this wonderful place. The pics below say it all. The viz
was poor and these are the best I could get. |
