After the Kelloe we rested in Long Bay with a cuppa soup.
This is also the time I change my wing and backplate from twin set up to single
and one set of regs to single set up. As we approach Magic Point we see the Pro
Dive boat pulling away. Beauty, they are gone and we have the site to our
selves. We secure the anchor in 24m then head up to the cave. There
are no GNS around the cave, no devilfish, no cuttle. But there is a bery
large black bull ray resting in the sand. He heads off across the cave
heading east and we lose sight of him. The viz is quite good though. We
head away from the cave and as we are leaving we see a lone juvenile GNS
swimming in. I get a couple of pics before it heads off again. Out
away from the cave we are over the sand in about 22m. Appearing around us
is a school of large squid - the biggest about 800mm long. I have not seen squid
this big and they are so graceful in the water. They circle around for
quite some time. I have never seen anything so graceful in the water.
I shhot some good pics and video as well. Then we come across a wobbiegong
resting in the sand. It sits quietly as we take pics, then it has had
enough and heads off again.
So again Magic Point puts on some special magic for us.
