Port Kembla

Port Kembla is an interesting place for diving.  First thoughts are steel works, pollution, dirty water.  It is actually the opposite.  The boat ramp at Port Kembla is well set up.  It has a long jetty sheltered by a long breakwall.  It has plenty of parking, fresh running water and toilets.  And at under an hour's drive from home it is very accessible.  And the bonus is the some of the best dives are under 10 minutes away by boat.  We have dived the wreck of the Bombo, Toothbrush Island, Pig Island and Martins Islet where there is a seal colony.

The diving here is fantastic.  We have always had good viz, and lots of life to enjoy.  As there are few dive boat operators these areas are not heavily dived.  It is well worth the visit.
