My second dive for the day and with the seas up and
coming from the SW Bare Island West was the go. It was quite flat
and at 6.30 at night a great time to be getting in, esp with high tide
just an hour before. Viz was poor but we headed out along the N
side of the reef, out to it's end. We found a lone sea horse there
but a surprise, not more the 10m away in a rock crevice was a dwarf
lionfish. We followed the S side of the reef past a very large and
angry cuttle. A bit further along, to our surprise as a juvenile
PJ. Quite calm, all 3 of us surrounded us and it was not startled,
even when our strobes went off in it's face. We headed a bit
further East before going back over the reef and ending back at the
ramp. Water was a beautiful 22oC.
