I wanted a mid week dive so that on the weekend of 7th March I would be doing my 500th dive.  The only evening we had was Monday  March 2nd.  So Jen, Wayne and I headed down to Bare Island.  At the ramp we found the dumbbell, missing a weight on one end.   Clearly, some one had decided to make to make a souvenir of it and then decided once they got it out of the water that it wasn't worth.  We agreed to take it back out to the stand that it has been on for the past few years.  The viz was poor. In 8m depth we were "accosted" by the same groper that has been so intense in previous dives.  Despite pushing it away and then hitting it, it continued to be in our faces and kept coming back, obviously looking for food.  We put he dumbbell back (see pics) and while there found a lone weedie sea dragon.  We headed across to the cave at the end of the reef to look for sea horses but we could not find any.  On the way back we came across a pair of mourning cuttles on the sand.  We played with them for while and got some great pics as well.  At the end of the dive I did a buoyancy check, finding that with 30 bar in my 12.2L Faber and my Halcyon wing and backplate I needed less than 8 lb of lead.
