It was such good weather and the water so good I headed
off to Bare Island for a SOLO dive - my first.
Not used to shore diving, after strapping my pony on and
heading down the road I realised half way down that my mask and fins
were still leaning against the car. So back up I went. Once
at the small ramp on the West side it was an easy slide into the water
and away I went. I hadn't really planned to go too far and just
past the kelp I found 2 pygmy leatherjackets swimming around green
plants and kelp. These became my photographic subjects as I
watched them play in and out of the plants. I didn't get any
deeper than 7.9m but I was quite satisfied with my first solo dive.
