Having completed my solo dive on the West side we wanted
to do the East side. We considered circumnavigating but decided
that might be too much from the main land. As the bridge was
closed we had to climb down from the carpark and walk across the rocks
and under the bridge, entering the water on the flat rock shelfs there.
We headed across the channel and followed the line of Bare Island.
We found the anchor and took some pics of it. We found a juvenile
weedie sea dragon, quite small and 2 other adults. I found 2 very
small pygmy leatherjackets and a smallish school of striped catfish.
These always give me the shivers, somehow they look unpleasant. I
also saw a very small gunthers butterfly fish but it managed to evade my
lens. We turned, swimming through the gutter and back under the
bridge before exiting on the rocks below the car park. A most
enjoyable 68 minute dive with Wayne and Robert.
